“33 kids in Chhattisgarh safe after school sky balloon burst.”

On Thursday, a distressing event unfolded at a private school in Surguja district, Chhattisgarh, where 33 children and multiple others sustained injuries.

During their lunch break, students from Vivekananda Vidya Niketan in Ambikapur were on the school grounds when a helium cylinder and a gas balloon exploded. Superintendent of Police (Surguja) Sunil Sharma explained that the students sustained minor injuries, while three men inflating the balloon were also hurt due to the cylinder explosion.

The injured children were quickly taken to various hospitals for medical attention. Notably, members of Hindu Ekta Manch, an NGO, were using helium cylinders to fill balloons. Mr. Sharma emphasized that the school management and the balloon-filling committee will be questioned during the investigation. The site has been sealed, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage.”
